OWEN WRIGHT

Owen Wright

Owen Wright hails from the South Coast of NSW, Australia, growing up in the little town of Culburra. His brand of surfing mixes power with big moves and loves charging big barrels around the globe.

Growing up amongst a family of talented surfers, including 2 x World Champion Tyler Wright and free surfer Mikey Wright, Owen has long been one of Australia’s top surfers. Owen qualified for the World Surfing Tour in 2009 and since then has won many events and placed consistently in the top 5.

In 2015 he was in the hunt for the World Title at the last event of the season but suffered a traumatic brain injury prior to the event. He then had to sit out the whole of the 2016 season, while rehabilitating from the injury. In the very first event back in 2017 he stunned the world and won the event.

In 2021 Owen completed the full comeback taking the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics and the first Olympic surfing medal for Australia

Today Owen still competes on the World Tour and has plenty more fire left to add more trophies to his cabinet and that elusive World Title.
